　　岁月流金，天道酬勤。值此辞旧迎新之际，我谨代表长宁区人民政府向全区人民、向在长宁工作和生活的各界人士，致以新年的祝福！向所有关心、支持长宁发展的海内外朋友，致以诚挚的问候！
　　we are at the best of times and it pays to work hard. on the occasion of saying goodbye to the year 2018 and welcoming 2019, i, on behalf of the changning district people’s government, extend my new year’s greetings to the people of changning, the people who live and work in changning as well as all our friends who care and support the development of changning.
　　2018年是奋进的一年。在外部环境深刻变化，自身处于深度转型关键时期的背景下，我们坚持稳中求进工作总基调，着力推动高质量发展、创造高品质生活、深化高水平改革创新，全区经济稳中有进、进中提质，城市能级和核心竞争力进一步提升。
　　we marched forward in 2018. when profound changes took place in the external environment and we entered a crucial stage of deep transition, we adhered to the general tone of making steady progress in our work, focusing on promoting high-quality development, creating a high-quality life and deepening high-level reform and innovation. the economy of changning maintained stable growth, made improvements and further increased urban functional levels and core-competitiveness in 2018.
　　一年来，我们坚持以制度创新和企业服务为抓手，通过持续走访和调研，把握企业诉求，优化营商环境，一照多址等改革创新举措先后三次获国务院通报表扬，区域创新创业活力进一步激发。一年来，我们主动服务保障首届中国国际进口博览会，以城市更新助推精细化管理，市容市貌焕然一新，慢行休闲环境更具魅力，公共空间品质持续提升。
　　in the past year, we adhered to institutional innovation and better served enterprises. we understood what enterprises needed through constant visits and studies. reform and innovation measures, such as one business license with multiple addresses, were commended by the state council. the vitality of regional innovation and entrepreneurship was further unleashed. in the past year, we offered service guarantees to the first china international import expo and pushed forward intensive management through urban renewal projects. our district took on a new look. the slow traffic system and relaxed environment made changning more attractive. the quality of public spaces was improved.
　　一年来，我们以最大努力解决群众关心的突出问题，持续加大民生投入，聚焦住房、养老等难题，实施教育、医疗、文化、养老等4个优质+均衡发展三年行动计划，综合施策建设美丽宜居社区，努力使长宁人民有更多获得感、幸福感、安全感。
　　in the past year, we tried our best to solve the issues people were most concerned about, increasing investment to improve people’s livelihoods, and focusing on housing, elderly care and other tough tasks.we carried out a three-year strategy for quality plus balance development in the fields of education, medical care, culture and elderly care to build a beautiful and livable community and let our people be more satisfied, happier and safer.
　　梦想催人奋进，奋斗赢得未来。2019年，我们将全面贯彻落实习近平总书记考察上海重要讲话精神，精准对接、迅速行动，为长宁新一轮发展注入新的动力。我们将持续围绕共建美丽家园，共享美好生活的主题，坚定不移推进产业发展和城市更新两大战略，坚定不移实施民生领域优质+均衡计划，再接再厉、攻坚克难，努力提升城区能级和核心竞争力，加快建设国际精品城区。
　　dreams encourage us to keep moving forward and we strive for a better future. in 2019, we will fully implement the spirit of general secretary xi jinping's important speech during his visit to shanghai, link it to practice, take immediate action and provide new driving forces for a new round of development for changning. we will focus on the theme of building a beautiful home and sharing a good life and unswervingly promote the two major strategies of industrial development and urban renewal, unswervingly fulfill the quality plus balance action plan in improving people’s livelihoods, make persistent efforts to overcome difficulties, increase urban functional levels and core-competitiveness and accelerate the construction of an international community of excellence.
　　我们将继续发扬先行先试的优良传统，进一步提振干事创业的精气神，充分发挥区域优势和特长，推动改革开放再出发、创新发展再突破，不断实现人民对美好生活的向往，以优异的成绩迎接新中国成立70周年！
　　we will carry forward the tradition of first mover, further boost the spirit of entrepreneurship, give full play to regional advantages, promote further reform and opening up and make further breakthroughs in innovation and development. we will make people’s longing for a better life come true and welcome the 70th anniversary of the founding of the people’s republic of china with excellent achievements.
